A beloved treat among ex-pats and locals alike, these traditional Butteries—also known as Rowies or Aberdeen Rolls—are a true taste of the North East of Scotland. Forget the supermarket imitations; these are the authentic, iconic “delicacies” that have been enjoyed for generations.

Unlike any other roll you’ll find, Butteries have a rich, flaky texture similar to a croissant, but with a sturdier, flattened shape and a distinctive salty flavour. Originally made with lard to provide a hearty energy source for fishermen at sea, today’s recipe has been updated with vegetable fat for a lighter, more versatile appeal without sacrificing the classic taste.

Incredibly addictive and utterly moreish, these Butteries are perfect enjoyed warm with a smear of butter or jam, or as a savoury snack on their own. Treat yourself to the real deal and savour a slice of Scottish heritage!

NOTE: Single packets shipped along with other frozen produce will be frozen on arrival. This won’t affect the quality of the product, in fact it keeps them in the best condition.
